Forgetting an ATM PIN is common. Many people forget their PIN if they don’t use their ATM card for a month. Regular users may not face this issue, but those who use their ATM card occasionally or have multiple ATM cards might struggle to remember their PINs.
Previously, generating a new ATM PIN was difficult, but now, it has become much easier. If you have forgotten your SBI ATM PIN or have received a new ATM card, you can generate your PIN easily using four simple methods.
1. Generate SBI ATM PIN at an ATM
- Visit the nearest SBI ATM.
- Insert your debit card and select the ‘PIN Generation’ option.
- Enter your 11-digit account number and press ‘Confirm.’
- Enter your registered mobile number and press ‘Confirm.’
- You will receive an SMS stating that your Green PIN will be sent to your registered mobile number.
- Once you receive the OTP (Green PIN), reinsert your debit card and select ‘Banking.’
- Choose your preferred language.
- Enter the OTP you received.
- Select ‘PIN Change’ from the menu.
- Enter a new four-digit PIN of your choice and confirm it.
- You will receive a confirmation message that your PIN has been successfully changed.
2. Generate SBI ATM PIN via SMS
- From your registered mobile number, send an SMS in this format: PIN ABCD EFGH to 567676
- ABCD = Last four digits of your debit card number
- EFGH = Last four digits of your bank account number
- You will receive an OTP, valid for two days.
- Visit an SBI ATM and follow the above ATM method to set a new PIN.
3. Generate SBI ATM PIN via Customer Care
- Call SBI toll-free numbers: 1800 11 22 11 / 1800 425 3800 / 080-26599990.
- Follow the instructions and choose ‘ATM and Prepaid Card Services.’
- Select the option to generate a Green PIN by pressing 1.
- Enter your debit card number and confirm it.
- Enter your bank account number and confirm it.
- You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number, valid for two days.
- Visit an SBI ATM and follow the ATM method to set your new PIN.
4. Generate SBI ATM PIN via Internet Banking
- Log in to SBI Internet Banking using your credentials.
- Select E-Services > ATM Card Services from the main menu.
- Choose ATM PIN Generation.
- Select either One Time Password (OTP) or Profile Password for verification.
- Choose the bank account linked to your debit card and click Submit.
- Select your debit card and click Confirm.
- Enter any two digits of your choice and click Confirm.
- You will receive an SMS with two more digits.
- Enter the full four-digit PIN (your two chosen digits + two received via SMS) and confirm.
- You will receive a confirmation message that your ATM PIN has been successfully changed.
